Location

We are located in the picturesque village of Irthington, Cumbria. We are 8 miles east of Carlisle and around 35 miles from the North Lakes.

If you are travelling to us by car, leave the M6 at junction 44 and take the A689 towards Hexham. After approximately 6 miles, turn left at the signpost for Irthington. Vallum Barn is at the heart of the village, directly opposite the church. If you are walking we are only 800 metres south of Hadrian’s Wall National Trail footpath. Transport can be arranged to and from the main railway and bus stations in Carlisle. Baggage transfer for walkers can be arranged, also transport to local pubs for evening meals.
