Our nearest town is the small market town of Brampton

Located nearby are:

Lanercost Priory founded in 1166 whose remains and imposing church survive today.

Talkin Tarn, a beautiful natural lake where you can spend time walking, fishing or hire a rowing boat or even try windsurfing.

Gelt Wood where you can walk along the fast flowing River Gelt and see the Roman quarry where stone was taken to build Hadrian's Wall.

Vallum Barn is only 9 miles from the historic city of Carlisle with its many attractions, such as Carlisle Castle, Carlisle Cathedral, Tullie House Museum. Plus a wide variety of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities.

Gretna Green is only 11 miles down the road.

We are about 35 miles away from the North Lakes (www.cumbria-the-lake-district.co.uk), which makes many attractions easily accessible for a day trip.
